Swimming lessons and Drive IN Fun

The last day of swimming lessons Gracie was pushing off and putting her head under the water so good. That is her with her foot poking out. She and Morgan both passed and they both get to skip up to level 3!! Good job girls.

Morgan getting help from the teacher to put face in water and float.

How lucky we are to live near a Drive In. We had never been to see a movie yet so we decided we had better go. Here are some pictures of our set up. They play two movies so the first one is usually a kid movie and the next a mom and dad movie. We stayed for both and really enjoyed our time.
The girls just waiting for the movie.
The big screen
Derrick lounged out in the car.

Caught in the act!!

I have these pictures backwards but I came into the kitchen and this is what I caught Brittlyn doing!!!! I thought only teenaged boys tried doing that.
She got every last drop out.
luckily the milk was almost empty. we really could have had a bad mess.

Feeding the Deer

Another really fun thing that we were able to do this summer was feeding the baby deer.
Some people picked up a baby deer because they couldn't see it's mother, so they brought it home with them and kept it for the night. The next day they called the Division of Wildlife and becuase they had kept it over night they were unable to take it back to the mother. Mother deer are never with their new born babies. Only long enough for the feeding and then they leave so they can protect them from the predators. Well there is a lady that feeds and takes care of the babies when they are brought it sometimes they are injured and need help and other times like this time they are just needing to be fed. We were lucky enough to go out and help her with some of the feedings while she was out of town. We had so much fun.
This picture was when the baby was just a little bit older than the first time that we had gone out to help.
Baby Buckwheat. Because the people who picked him up held him so much he was so used to being with humans that he just loves being around people. Usually when the animals are brought in they are kept as wild as possible with only one person at a time for the feeding. Buckwheat on the other hand just loved to interact with everone. This is Buckwheat just hanging out on the back porch.
The baby deer just loved to chew on Morgans Shirt.
Just one week old.

Gracie getting to feed Buckwheat his bottle. This is when we were in training to do a feeding on our own.

Summer Fun Update

So to start the summer off Gracie Really wanted to get her ears pierced. So after swimming lessons we and two of her friends went to World of Beauty and all three of them got their ears pierced. Gracie was so brave. She didn't flinch and she didn't even shed one tear.
This is the last picture of her before she got it done.

Sitting in the chair getting ready
Right after they got pierced
All three girls with their pretty ears.

She has another really loose one and her top one is starting to wiggle.
I can't beleive how fast kids grow.

It's always great to take a long car ride with the kids. This particular day we left our house and headed through Indian Canyon. For those of you who know that road it has many curves and turns. Well when we got to Price we got in with Grandma Quita and then went to Provo through Spanish Fork Canyon. Just as we hit Spanish Fork Brittlyn started to whine. Lexy was trying to console her beings that the car ride was almost over. Well there was no consoling her.... that is until she consoled herself by throwing up... Not good. I pulled over at the nearest gas station and luckily saw the water and air hozes right there in the parking lot. We were able to clean her off and most of the car seat but the smell lingered in the car for the whole rest of the trip. However, we had our happy girl back so it was okay.

Just after she puked we looked back to see if she was okay and this is what we saw... every kid plugging their noses. Poor Wyatt was gaging. (reinactment)

This post is for the family that hasn't been able to make it to see Grandpa Clydes headstone. We just got the headstone just before Memorial day. It turned out so great.
