What a job

MaryAnn just after getting the baby cub out of the den.
How did she get the cub out you ask, well... Here is the mama bear and the baby cub is in there as well the mama bear is
taking a long "spring" nap (I guess you could say that)
Here is Brave MaryAnn, going head first into the den Past the mama bear
to get her cub.
She also then had to go back in and get the mama bear out.
She grabbed hold of the mama and two guys pulled on her legs to get both out
of the den.
What comes out must go back in. MaryAnn, climbed back into the den
and pulled the mama bear back in. Got her comfortable and then out she came herself.
But only to go back in to put the baby cub safely with her mama.

BEARS...

This was such a very fun day. I was able to go to work with Derrick, they
were checking on Mama Bears in their dens to see if they had any cubs and how many.
They will later find the mother bear using radio collars to see how many of the cubs survive.
What we got to do is first we found the den and then Derrick tranquilized the mama bear
while she was asleep they pulled her out of the den and found one cub. So they got the cub out
to weigh him and of course to be cuddled and loved by the humans.

What a cute little cub he weighs 4 lbs. so tiny and cute.
I loved his little ears they were so tiny and soft.

It was a colder day so we had to keep him all wrapped up. I love
how his paws were like little hands. he would wrap his little fingers around
my thumb and hold it just like a baby would do.

This is the mama bear. Even though she was asleep I was totally freaked out to get so
close. She was still breathing like normal and when she would breath her head would move just a little. It was a very cool experience.

Here is baby cub holding my thumb.
And again only this time check out his claws. They are so long already and sharp
as razors. But to get to hold one so small is totally worth the pain of a scratch.

Brittlyn's 2!!!

Brittlyn's 2nd Birthday.
I can't beleive how time flies.
Just a very simple birthday. We had preschool that day and we
went to the farm to feed the baby calves and lambs and to see the
baby chics. The kids had fun and I think Brittlyn loved it to so
it was a great place to go on a birthday.
Morgan 4 Brittlyn 2 Gracie 5
Thanks to Grandma Ewell for using packaging peanuts to replace wrapping paper.
the kids loved it me not so much.

Brittlyn and her confetti cake

Family picture with the birthday girl and cake
don't we all look great.

Derrick thought that we should have a picture acting as our selves
he said quit posting things like we have it all together.
So here you have it the way that we feel on a daily basis.

Field Trip

Another Field Trip!!!
We had a cancelation for our field trip to the farm so we made last
minute plans to go to Pleasant Valley Kennels.
Here they train and board dogs for people and they are really great at
what they do. It was really fun to see the dogs in the learning and training stage
They also have a pheasant farm where we were able to get up close and
personal with the pheasant. Poor guy all these little girls want to touch and pet.
He had no idea what he was getting into when he got caught.

Morgan throwing the dog toy. Watch out I almost got smacked with
it more than once. the girls thought it was really cool that the
dog would wait to chase the toy until you told him to go...
Thanks to Jon for letting us come out and see the kennel in action.

After dressing up in their favorite dress em ups
they walked the runway!!!
Thanks Kacie for the Idea the girls had a ball.
This is the best the girls could do when asked to strike a pose.

Opening Presents

Don't you love Gracie's hair... It's a wig but she loved it.
My camera ran out of battery so I didn't get any other pics but we had
a wonderful day.
Morgan got a new Booster Seat for her birthday from Mom and Dad.
Lame, I know but that is what she wanted and she absolutely loved it.
